FAQ

The earlier, the better. My schedule fills up quickly, so it’s best to book as early as you can.

However, don’t be afraid to reach out to me, even if it’s last-minute. If I have availability, I will do my best to fit you in.

Maternity sessions usually take place between 30 and 37 weeks, but I welcome any time during your pregnancy.

Newborn sessions are usually during the first month of life, but I welcome older babies as well!

Your newborn and maternity sessions will take place in the comfort of your home. Taking travel out of the equation helps make this experience as easy as possible for you and your family.

Worried about your home’s appearance? Worry not! I can capture beautiful images in the smallest of spaces. You are going through an amazing transformation—please don’t spend the extra effort to prep or tidy up. All I need is a well-lit window and you and your loved ones.

Your birth and fresh 48 sessions will take place in your birth space, wherever you choose to give birth.

Maternity sessions usually last about an hour.

Newborn sessions can be anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on baby's needs. These are baby-led sessions, and sometimes that means nursing breaks and extra time for baby.

Your newborn and maternity sessions take place in the comfort of your home (no travel stress, yay!). And although a clutter-free space always looks great in photos, there’s no need to spend extra energy on prepping your home for the shoot. I can capture beautiful images in the smallest of spaces.

All I need is a well-lit window and you and your loved ones.

You are going through an amazing transformation—please save your energy for yourself and your family.

If you so desire, you can prepare simple, neutral clothes for you and baby.

Mama: wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, loved, and beautiful. Your comfort and love are what make your photos shine. Baby: neutral, solid colors and a simple, plain diaper looks best.

Generally, slightly over-sized, loose-fitted shirts or wraps look great in photos. Avoid text, neon colors, or loud patterns like plaid--they are distracting and don't look good in photos.

These are one-outfit sessions. No need to worry about multiple outfits and wardrobe changes! Need more help? Feel free to e-mail me, and we can work together to find your ideal outfit.

No… and yes. I provide gentle guidance and suggestions to allow for best lighting and comfortable positions for you and baby, but I do not pose your baby in props or unusual positions to create a cute photo.

I may take pictures of your baby alone on the bed, but the majority of pictures will be baby-in-arms. My goal is to capture the feeling of closeness within you and your family in a romantic and dreamy way.

Your baby’s safety is my top priority. I use gentle, non-invasive techniques for positioning. I never place your baby in an unsafe position and always handle them with love and care.

Although my primary focus is newborns, I welcome babies of all ages.

I nursed my babies well beyond the newborn stage, and that bond and experience is very important and special to me. I would love to capture this for you and your family, regardless of your baby’s age.

Newborn sessions are baby-led, meaning I schedule enough time for frequent breaks for feeding, changing, and soothing. There is no pressure to “hurry up” during your session. Your session is paced to keep you and your baby comfortable.

I do not require your baby to be sleepy during your session. Your baby can be awake and active, sleepy and dreamy, or fussy and temperamental.

I love the unique energy that each baby provides, as it makes your photos even more special and heart-felt.

Yes! Your maternity, newborn, and fresh 48 sessions are reserved for immediate family members. I focus on the love and connection between you and your family. That’s what make your photos so important.

For birth space photos, I document whoever is present in your birth space. If older siblings are present, they will be included.

No. I do not use props for any of my sessions. I feel they distract from my main focus—capturing the intimacy and connection of family during this sweet, brief time.

I use natural lighting as my light source.

If a situation arises where the lighting is too poor and there is no other option, I may use a flash, but it will be very dim, and  will be bounced off the wall—no direct flashes.

For birth sessions, we will discuss your preferences before your birth. Allowing your birth to flow uninterrupted is very important to me, and I will do everything within my power to honor your preferences.

For maternity, fresh 48, and newborn sessions, you will receive your gallery usually around 4-6 weeks after your session.

Birth sessions are usually 6-8 weeks for gallery delivery.

You will receive an e-mail when your photos have been added to your private, online gallery. You will then be able to view, download, and, if you choose to do so, order prints through my calibrated printing lab.

Your complimentary, archival photo album will be delivered 1-2 weeks after your online gallery is available. Your album will be mailed to your house.

When your private gallery is available online, you can either download your images and send them to a printing lab of your choice, or you can have them printed through my calibrated, professional printing lab.

I offer a variety of sizes and options from which to choose, including standard prints, canvas, metal, and wood.

I can only guarantee color accuracy and quality through my printing lab.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please notify me at least 48 hours in advance.

If you reschedule, your deposit will be applied toward your rescheduled date. If you cancel, your deposit will be forfeited.

Yes! I offer gift certificates for all sessions and packages—perfect for baby showers or as a special gift to new parents.

Yes! I have a portfolio on my website which showcases a variety of my sessions.

I strongly encourage you to visit my portfolio page and become familiar with my photographic style and feel before scheduling your session.
